DCA-NCA is recruiting a new Programme Development & Learning Coordinator for our Myanmar Country office.

Who are we?

In Myanmar we work to save lives through humanitarian action, build strong and resilient communities, and fight injustice and inequality.

Through a joint office and country programme, DanChurchAid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), support local and national civil society in their work for human rights, development and resilient communities.

Objective of the job :

The Programme Development and Learning Coordinator (PDLC) supports the Development Team on day-to-day activities and priorities, in particular DCA-NCA Myanmar field staff and partners on project design, proposal development, meauring impact and reporting. The role also coordinates with DCA HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark, and NCA HQ in Oslo, Norway on grant managment and global learning processes. The PDLC will be based in Yangon but with travel to Shan State and Southeast Myanmar as required, and when possible. The role sits within the Development Programme which supports civil society strengthening and localisation, with a strong focus on empowerment and rights, gender-based violence, resilience building and food security.

The main tasks will include:

  • Support programme design and development, facilitating design workshops and writing winning proposals with the Head of Development Programme
  • Provide advisory support to monitoring and evaluation working closely with MEAL staff to ensure that new projects are based on evidence and learning from our existing programming
  • Support the coordination of communications activities and visibility with project staff and HQ
  • Champion donor compliance by providing technical and hands-on support to the team to monitor reporting deadline and write quality reports to donors
  • Facilitating learning across the organisation and with our partners
  • Occasionally projects are directly managed by this role depending on thematic focus and current capacities in the team
  • Acting as focal point between grant management teams in HQ and country office

About you

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate has:

· Experience in Myanmar is a must. Currently located in Myanmar an added advantage

· 3 years relevant work experience in fundraising, grant management, research or MEAL.

· Technical background in one of more of the following is preferred: empowerment, rights and governance, food security and livelihoods, gender-based Violence.

· Strong experience in developing programmes and writing proposals and reports for donors (Excellent English writing capacity is a required)

· An outgoing, results-oriented and proactive approach

· The ability to synthesize and analyse complex and comprehensive data

· The ability to effectively work in a complex work environment, set priorities and deal with numerous simultaneous tasks and deadlines

· Confidence in facilitating, with excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills

· The ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment

· Fluency in written and spoken English

We offer

DCA will offer the successful applicant a 24 month contract dependent on both funding and performance.
