Programme Officer-Gender Based Violence (GBV)

We are looking to recruit a talented and dynamic Programme Officer who can drive forward our work on women’s empowerment and gender-based violence (GBV).
We work together with local partners to fight inequalities by empowering women, and address gender-based violence through GBV prevention and response interventions.
Our team of Programme Officers manage a partnership portfolio of around 20 national NGO partners and act as project responsible, facilitators, resource persons and networkers.
As the Programme Officer for GBV you will:
· Manage a portfolio of 4-5 partners working on gender and GBV, and take a lead role to ensure that the projects are implemented according to international standards.
· Build DCA-NCA and partner capacity on GBV, gender mainstreaming and ideally psychosocial support.
· Actively position DCA-NCA as a relevant and capable partner on gender and GBV, particularly with local ethnic organisations and with the Myanmar government.
· Lead gender-mainstreaming across our program portfolio.
· Facilitate the development of new projects, monitor existing projects and provide technical support and guidance during implementation.
· Influence national networks and forums related to GBV issues strategic networking and advocacy and actively participate in Gender working groups.
The position is based in Yangon with extensive travel in the field, up to two weeks per month.
Desired required qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience of working on gender, GBV and/or psychosocial support.
• Strong project management skills, including management of back donor funded projects.
• Experience working in ethnic areas and with ethnic communities highly desired.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, networking and advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (English, Myanmar and ethnic languages)
• Ability to travel to field locations.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel and Word).
• Bachelor degree in a relevant area, e.g. Social Science, Gender, International Relations, Development or any other related.
The benefit package for the position includes a competitive remuneration with base salary range from MMK 1,426,059 to 2,439,037 per month depending on education and level of experience). Other benefits include annual bonus, pension scheme and medical insurance.
Starting date: December 2017 (two year contract with possibility of extension)
Weekly working hours: 40 hours per week.
