Who are we?
DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organisation working in Ukraine since 2022. DCA has its main office in Kyiv, with a field office in Mykolaiv and a logistics hub in Lviv. The DCA country programme in Ukraine is implementing various humanitarian interventions, mainly through partners, including cash assistance, WASH, Protection, flexible small grants to local groups and community-led response, as well as Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA). The Ukraine programme currently employs over 40 national and international staff, with a fast-growing team and programme.
About the job
DCA is looking for a self-motivated, organized and analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills to join the Ukraine mission as a MEAL Coordinator under the direct management of the Head of Program (HoP). They will be responsible for solidifying and expanding DCA’s monitoring of humanitarian projects and results, in line with donor requirements and DCA’s quality standards. The position will be based in Kyiv and include regular travels to field implementation sites depending on the security situation.
NOTE: This position is open to both expats and national candidates. For expat applicants, priority will be given to nationalities with quick visa access to Ukraine.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of a comprehensive MEAL framework for DCA’s Ukraine mission, linked to DCA’s global results framework
- Develop modalities for monitoring partner-implemented programming with and without field access
- Interface with partners and help build their capacity on MEAL structures
- Ensure field data collection is in line with grant agreement requirements as well as HQ reporting requirements
- Train and develop a team of field-based project monitoring staff as programs expand
- Develop and oversee complaints and feedback mechanism (CFM)
- Ensure beneficiary data protection is integrated into all DCA programming
- Support outcome harvesting of cash-based programming
- Lead evaluation processes, including internal and external involvement
- Produce reports and presentations for organizational learning from partnership/project implementations
- Support proposal development by inputting on results frameworks and indicator designs
- Coordinate on an on-basis with DCA’s Strategy and Quality Management (SQM) HQ Unit about the development of MEAL tools, alignment to global strategies and tools, and on complains and feedback handling
The applicants we’re looking for includes:
- A master’s degree in a relevant field or similar work experience
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role
- Experience working with KoBoToolbox, Magpi, or other data collection tools
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Ukrainian and/or Russian language is a plus
- Experience starting up MEAL departments in humanitarian contexts and training local staff
- Experience working in the Ukraine context considered a plus
- Experience working in partner-based programming
