DanChurchAid is seeking a motivated Financial Advisor for its Headquarters in Copenhagen. The role will contribute directly to the delivery of donor funded humanitarian projects around the world ensuring financial and contractual accountability. About us
DanChurchAid (DCA) has celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2022 as one of the largest Danish Non-Governmental Organisation. DCA is active in humanitarian response, mine action, and development activities in 20 countries (in Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe, South-East Asia and South Asia).
The activities are supported by a diverse donor portfolio and is currently delivering above 100 contracts of varying scale and scope.
The Headquarter Finance unit is overall responsible for the financial management of DCA’s operations. The main tasks are bookkeeping, internal control, quality assurance of budgets and financial reports, capacity building of colleagues and staff of Partner organisations, maintenance and development of financial guidelines, maintenance, and development of the accounting system, etc.
About the position
As Financial Advisor, you will support, advise and train DCA finance staff around the world in finance related matters and donor requirements. You will develop and improve procedures, guidelines, formats.
You will have your own portfolio of projects for which you will ensure compliance to Donor and internal requirements, assure quality of proposals, contracts, and budgets, assist in monitoring and reporting to donors, and with preparation of financial audits.
Involvement in different projects of organisational change or process improvement should be expected, as well as administrative support and other ad-hoc assignments. The assignments may change over time, and you must therefore be flexible and thrive with both a varied task portfolio, as well as some recurring tasks.
You must expect 1 to 4 weeks of travel annually.
Qualifications
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, audit, economy, or equivalent, or master’s or bachelor’s degree in another field with clearly demonstrable qualified experience.

Working environment
The weekly work time of employment is 37 hours, including lunch break. The headquarters currently work from Monday to Friday, with core business hours from 9:00 to 15:00 but we offer flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home.
You will be joining a very pleasant work environment where you will be able to engage socially with your colleagues at the canteen, Friday’s bars, staff parties, etc.
Salary range
The gross salary will lie between 400,000 DKK and 550,000 DKK annually (excluding employer pension contribution) depending on qualification, education, and experience.
