Business Development and Learning Coordinator

DanChurchAid (DCA) invites motivated and qualified applications for a full-time position as Business Development Learning Coordinator based in Phnom Penh. The position is part of DCA Country Programme,and Responsible for developing business models and efforts to secure a diverse resource base for the DCA Country Program, and for monitoring and learning oversight**

Main tasks:

1-Fundraising

  • Scoping and monitoring of relevant funding opportunities with existing and new donors
  • Investigate and develop new potential business models with a focus on multi-stakeholder partnerships
  • Development and implementation of annual fundraising strategy and fundraising budget
  • Facilitation and coordination of narrative and financial proposal development process and preparation of funding bids to donors, the private sector (in Cambodia and elsewhere), constituency donors in Denmark and other potential donors in close cooperation with DCA Cambodia and DCA HQ

2-Grant management support

  • Quality assurance of non-Danida frame projects’ narrative and financial reports and budget forecasts before submission to DCA HQ or donor
  • Support planning of and participate in kick-off workshops for new projects
  • Ensure compliance with grant conditions, including on cost eligibility, procurement, reporting and monitoring
  • Prepare contract amendments, budget reallocation and project modification requests for submission as needed in coordination with local finance team and key departments in HQ (ProLog, GPDR and IFU)
  • On behalf of and in close coordination with the Head of Programme, provide support to Programme Officers on project implementation of non-Danida funded projects, including quality assurance, coordination, monitoring, reporting and evaluation
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation framework for non-Danida frame projects at the start of the project and train partner staff to carry it out as needed

3-Capacity development of partners

  • Where relevant/requested, facilitate training and/or other support to local partners to strengthen their fundraising efforts and understanding of international donor requirements
  • Together with Programme Officers, conduct capacity needs assessments of partners to create plans to raise their capacities to the level needed to meet donor standards

4-Monitoring, learning and knowledge management

  • Support overall program monitoring, particularly as it links to institutional donor funded projects
  • Research new funding opportunities and donors; maintain an updated database of projects to pitch to prospective donors
  • Maintain updated knowledge of key EU funding instruments
  • Maintain updated knowledge of DCA Cambodia’s partner portfolio as well as programmatic framework priorities
  • Maintain close contact with GPDR at DCA HQ
  • Maintain good filing system of the work and ensure that relevant documents are uploaded in the DCA intranet

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in development studies or similar field
  • Good knowledge of the Cambodian context is preferring
  • Experience in donor liaison
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Fluent English speaking and excellent writing skill
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with high integrity
  • Ability to work under pressure in an organized and responsive manner and independently
  • Result oriented, problem solving, team player with decision making
