DanChurchAid (DCA) invites applications for an experienced Security & Access Coordinator (SAC) for its Syria program. This is a non-family position, based in North East Syria.
The Security & Access Coordinator (SAC) reports to the Security & Access Manager (SAM) and provides general support where required. The role is responsible for providing a level of management as delegated by line manager, in direct relation to Safety & Security SoP’s, Safety & Security Policies and DCA Global Guidelines.

The main duties relating to this position are as follows:
- Provide technical support to the SAM on all guidelines and planning for staff safety, operational security in North East Syria (NES).
- Travel regularly to field locations in NES and conduct MOSS compliant checks, ensuring that adequate security measures are in place for DCA staff, assets and operations.
- General QA of safety & security protocols and SoP’s. Reporting back to the SAM in a timely manner.
- In conjunction with the SAM develop training plans for the enhancement of the programme in all field locations.
- As directed by the SAM, deliver training to all key staff within the programme and produce training records and ensure further recommendations are compiled/submitted to the SAM.
- Evaluate, collate and disseminate security intelligence reports for the program.
- Mentor and capacity build the program’s national Safety and Access officers.
- Assist with the supervision of local DCA security guards and ensure that they receive the necessary training and equipment.
- Any other duties as requested by the SAM/CD.

Applicants must have the following qualifications and experience:
- Regional experience in a security capacity is essential.**
- Understanding of the humanitarian principles linked to NGO field and operational contexts.
- Experience of training development and delivery of security related material.
- Flexibility and cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- A precise understanding of the local, regional and international dynamics in NES.
- Strong leadership, team building and communication skills.
- Computer literacy essential including proficiency in Word, Power Point and Excel.
- A current HEAT certification from a recognised training provider.
