DCA-NCA is recruiting a new Project Development & Learning Officer (PDLO) for our Myanmar Country office.

Who are we?

In Myanmar we work to save lives through humanitarian action, build strong and resilient communities, and fight injustice and inequality.

Through a joint office and country programme, DanChurchAid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), support local and national civil society in their work for human rights, development and resilient communities.

Objective of the job :

The Project Development and Learning Officer takes all responsibility for DCA-NCA Myanmar’s efforts to raise funds for its programme activites from international institutional donors and others in close cooperation with local team, partners and head of office of DCA-NCA.

The main tasks will include:

  • Fundraising and Project development,
  • Grant management support
  • Learning and Capacity Development of partners
  • Communication & visibility
  • Maintain/ updated knowledge of key EU funding instruments.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of DCA-NCA Myanmar’s partner portfolio as well as programmatic framework and priorities
  • Maintain close contact with GPDR at DCA HQ
  • Maintain good coordination with NCA HG funding unit
  • Maintain good filing system of the work and ensure that relevant documents are uploaded in the DCA intranet.
  • Host monthly coordination meetings for each back donor-funded projects in country office in collaboration with relevant Project Manager/Coordinator.

About you

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate has:

  • A relevant degree

  • Up to 3 years relevant work experience in fund-raising, grant management, research or MEAL

  • Experience in developing projects and writing proposals and reports for donors

  • An outgoing, results-oriented and proactive approach

  • The ability to synthesize and analyse complex and comprehensive data.

  • The ability to effectively work in a complex work environment, set priorities and deal with numerous simultaneous tasks and deadlines

  • Confidence in facilitating, with excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills

  • The ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Knowledge or fluency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage

  • Knowledge of EC funding instruments is an advantage.

We offer

DCA will offer the successful applicant a 24 months contract renewable dependent on both funding and performance. Start date is planned for 1st January 2019

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with DCA’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates, or national staff (if Burmese national).
